This essential student budget cooking class is aimed at teenagers to ensure they eat with confidence, quick, tasty and healthy food.
In this relaxed cooking class, you will learn how to make:
Lentil and tomato soup and how to adapt it for different flavours
Chickpea/Vegetable/Chicken korma
Savoury vegetable rice
Garlic naan bread
How to cook pasta, rice, noodles and cous cous.
How to prepare and store common vegetables.
PLUS so many hints and tips for adapting each dish to be vegan, making it even simpler, creating other meals and making the most of leftovers and your freezer.
Lots of opportunities for discussion too!
How does a student budget cooking class work?
There are a maximum of four people per group. You will work in pairs to create a meal for four people.
At the end of the session, we will sit down to eat together, and any food remaining will be shared with your partner.
Where is the cooking class held?
At Get Cooking! Anne Marie’s home in Warwick Gates, between Warwick and Leamington. A perfect setup for teaching cooking in small groups.
How long does the cooking lesson last?
3 hours (cooking time around 2.5 hours)
Who is the budget cooking lesson for?
- Students are looking for easy healthy meals that are affordable and don’t take forever to make.
- Teenagers with no or little experience in cooking.
Anne Marie will explain what to cook and show you how recipes can be adapted for different occasions and tastes.
This workshop will enable you with vegetable preparation skills and show you how to effectively use your freezer to make the most of batch cooking techniques.
What do I need to bring?
Storage containers to take any food you don’t eat home. Aprons and recipes provided.
Can children join the session?
Yes, over the age of 14.

Yes, no problem. Get in touch to discuss dates and your requirements. Sessions can be tailored to your dietary needs and held in my home or yours! 2 or 3 hours sessions are available. All ages are welcome.
